Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actor, singer, and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her performance in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh is a collaborator on projects with award-winning director, actors, and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's Hulu-exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford's current film is Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust, starring alongside Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place on March 20, 2023. He stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that produced Hamilton is directing the musical. Ashford's last part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role in the role of Essie. Her additional Broadway performances are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and was raised in Denver.
